First steps to sustainability

Broad based introductory workshops run with fit4funding, which cover practical advice and information about planning for a sustainable future.

The workshops are aimed at voluntary and community groups and social enterprises to enable them to plan for sustainability, by looking at what they want to do in the short and long term and how this can be funded. It will encourage organisations which might presently rely on limited funding streams such as donations and grants, to consider new funding opportunities e.g. contracts or trading (income generation) – looking at the pros and cons of each including what needs to be in place in order to best access funding. They will also cover funding trends, touch on strategic planning and finish with where to find information and support.

First steps to sustainability for Governing Bodies

Attendees from the First steps to sustainability workshops have told us that they feel it is important that the trustees of their organisations who are responsible for their sustainability should be attending similar workshops in order to steer their organisations forward and ensure that they have the resources to continue and develop. However many trustees cannot make sessions during usual working hours, we are therefore running workshops specifically aimed at trustees, management committee members and directors on Saturday mornings.
