Meet the Team



Ian Courtney joined the Bank as its Regional Director for Wales in May 2009. His task is to promote the Bank's ethical role in the creation of a vibrant social capital market. Before taking up his appointment he worked in a public relations consultancy and prior to that in the telecommunications industry. Ian Courtney is an obsessive cricket fan and regular visitor to the Hay Festival, the annual arts festival labelled by Former US President Bill Clinton, "the Woodstock of the mind."





Paul Aviss
has been involved in coordinating Charity Bank's activities in the south midlands and Wales since its inception. He cares passionately about the visibility of charities and using his skills and experience to make charities' resources go further. He is a keen cyclist and a lover of all things Italian.






Ian Alexander is a Regional Representative for Charity Bank covering Wales and the west of England, joining them in 2007.  His previous career has been involved with both retail and business banking across the UK. He is keen to see social enterprises and charitable organisations develop and become sustainable. He is actively involved with several local community projects and also raises much needed funds with a group of friends to assist those diagnosed with cancer. In 2009 he completed a 40 mile canoe challenge and also the Great North Run.





Sara Main coordinates the Cylch Investment Programme to provide grant and loan support to organisations involved in recycling and reuse across Wales. Sara started her career in the environmental sector and after 20 years working in a variety of roles within the Third sector has enjoyed returning to the environmental field to oversee this innovative support programme. In her spare time Sara plays within a consistently unsuccessful but highly enthusiastic squash team.
