Project Focus: Grant Support

Grant support is available through our Prepare to Invest (P2I) programme which awards grants of up to £10,000 to meet the needs of Cylch Members starting to plan to invest in long term sustainability. We are working with organisations to identify what help might best suit an applicant. Some examples of our awards are shown here.

New Sandfields Aberavon (photo below) works across South West Wales with a range of community regeneration projects. They have used their P2I grant to set up and run a pilot computer reuse scheme. They have also received funding for a tailored training package for key members of staff to ensure their professional development and growth into senior management roles.

Co Options is a social enterprise providing employment and training opportunities for people with learning disabilities in their own community in North Wales. They have used a grant award from CIP to employ a consultant to work with them to determine the feasibility of a furniture reuse project which may also establish a large reuse retail facility within the Rhyl/Prestatyn area. It is hoped that this new expanded facility could house the new furniture reuse facility and also incorporate some of their existing projects under one roof.

Raven House Trust supports families and individuals in Newport and surrounding areas through their furniture reuse project and other services. They have received grant support for both staff time and also a consultant to work alongside staff to undertake a strategic review and work towards a new business approach for this established charity.

CoStar is a community regeneration service which aims to improve the lives of residents across Torfaen, with a series of community projects. They are using their grant to have a feasibility study undertaken to ensure that their new horticulture project makes the most of the opportunities which are around.
