Mark Goodman, a member of the awards judging panel, said: “Charity Bank’s pioneering partnership with Yorkshire Forward creates a new model for financing community projects and charities so that much-needed services can be offered to marginalized communities.”
Charity Bank was also awarded the Ethical Consumer Best Buy Label for its savings accounts.
“By identifying those companies such as Charity Bank who consider ethics throughout their entire operation, the Ethical Consumer Best Buy Label gives savers the confidence that they are making the best possible ethical and environmental choice.”
Rob Harrison, Ethical Consumer editor
In 2009, 2008 and 2007 the Ethical Company Accreditation Scheme has awarded Charity Bank for its ethical status. With a score of 100 out of 100, Charity Bank scored the maximum possible score. The score was given after Charity Bank was reviewed against various criteria including irresponsible lending, environmental devastation and environmental reporting.
