Set up in 1964 to ensure a sense of community was not lost in Alness, a Highland town, the Association has contributed to higher employment and increasing visitor numbers. A £50,000 loan enabled it to buy new premises which now houses the local paper, radio station, arts and crafts gallery and tea room.
