The third oldest working theatre in the UK, with a unique Regency stage, the building badly needed renovating. Charity Bank lent the team £400,000 to bridge planned fundraising for the £5.2m project, and following two years of extensive restoration, the theatre reopened in September 2007, the loan was repaid in 2009. A new £100,000 loan was agreed in 2010 to bridge grant funding.
