Every month 26,000 people use this community sports centre with 20 per cent from disadvantaged backgrounds. The charity runs 18 separate programmes to help the elderly, homeless, low income families and disabled people. Activities include cardiac rehabilitation, youth clubs and homeless shower care. The building was in need of major modernisation. Mainstream banks were approached but declined to lend; Charity Bank agreed a loan of £1.167m.
