Hydro-electricity generated at a weir in Settle, North Yorkshire provides enough ‘green’ electricity for 50 local homes. This community-led scheme received an initial loan of £125,000 to pay contractors. A further loan of £20,000 has assisted with the fitting of equipment and provided working capital.
