Young Devon was established as a charity in 1949 and exists to “change the odds in favour of young people”. A major part of their work is delivered through the Youth Enquiry Service (YES), which provides confidential information on issues including health, relationships, drugs and housing.
YES supported 5000 young people in 2010, but its accommodation had become unsuitable. Charity Bank provided a £50,000 loan towards the purchase and redevelopment of a new property at a time when funding from mainstream sources was more restricted.
