These changes are being made to support the exciting launch of our Mobile Banking App later this year, along with some regulatory updates and enhancements to how you can manage your account(s).

From the 31st of March 2026, here’s what is changing:

Preparation for the launch of our Mobile Banking App

Across our Terms and Conditions, we have introduced references to our Mobile Banking App, that we shall launch later in 2026. The mobile banking app will provide the following functionality:

  • Send and receive secure messages.
  • Issue, amend or cancel withdrawal and maturity instructions.
  • View and download eStatements.

There will be separate Mobile Banking App Terms and Conditions for those registering to use the mobile banking app.

We listened to your valued feedback and have been working very hard to provide this mobile app service which makes interaction with us more secure and available, and we’re really pleased it will support our mission to become a greener bank.

Changes to Easy Access payment instruction and processing cutoff times in Additional Terms and Summary Box documents

With the introduction of the new mobile banking app, we will be changing daily processing cutoff times for payment requests. The change means the current 11:30 cut off to receive instructions for same day payments (up to £125,000) will be retired.

The following new cut off times have been introduced. Instructions received via the Mobile Banking App by 16:00 will result in payment being made after midday on the next business day. Instructions via email (Withdrawal/Notification Form) received by 14:00, will result in payment being made after midday the next business day.

All instructions received after the relevant cut off time will be handled the next business day with payment made after midday on the subsequent business day.

To reflect the change to cutoff times for processing withdrawals the following clause will be changed in these documents: Ethical Easy Access Account – Additional Terms and Summary Box, Ethical Easy Access Business Account – Additional Terms and Summary Box, Ethical Easy Access Account for Charity, Trust and Unincorporated Associations – Additional Terms and Summary Box

Are you ready for the Mobile Banking App? (existing savers)

We hope you are as excited as we are about the pending launch of our Mobile Banking App!

In preparation for this milestone in our journey, we would like to ensure the following details are up to date to make registering easier.

  • Email address – each signer on your account operating mandate needs to have their own email address. If you currently utilise a shared mailbox address, please note the first signer to register on the mobile banking app will be assigned this. Any further signers will need to provide their own email address.
  • Mobile phone number – anyone wishing to use the mobile banking app will need a mobile phone number, again this should be unique to signer to enable them to register for and use the mobile banking app.

If you need to update these, please let us know by contacting the Savings team by phone: 01732 441944 or by email: [email protected] at your earliest convenience.

For organisations, please ensure that your operating mandate is kept up to date with any changes. You can use our Mandate Variation Form which can be downloaded from our website via our document library: https://www.charitybank.org/pages/savings-accounts-documents/ under Useful forms. Please note, that ALL signers on your account operating mandate will need to register for the mobile banking app. Please note your organisation’s primary contact has to be a signer listed on your account operating mandate to support how we contact you about your account and with marketing communications you may have chosen to receive.

We look forward to contacting you about the launch of the mobile banking app in the coming months!
