Charity Bank Launches 2023–2024 Social Impact Report
Charity Bank is proud to launch its 2023–2024 Social Impact Report. This interactive digital report showcases how our lending and savings continue to drive meaningful change across the UK.
Over the past two years, we’ve strengthened our focus on underserved communities, backed organisations responding to the cost-of-living crisis, and broadened our green finance efforts. This report charts our progress against the priorities set out in our 2023–2027 Strategy for Impact, namely, inclusive finance, environmental sustainability and community resilience, and celebrates the tangible outcomes made possible by our borrowers, savers, and partners.
Key Highlights:
- £120 million in loans to charities and social enterprises
- £59.3 million channelled to the UK’s most deprived communities
- £29.8 million provided to those unable to access finance elsewhere
- £37.7 million in loans to diverse-led organisations
- 167 social impact-led organisations supported
- 5,561 savers aligning their money with their values
- Launch of the Brighter Futures Fund to reach beyond traditional lending
- Expanded green finance to support the transition to Net Zero
Ed Siegel, CEO at Charity Bank commented, “At Charity Bank, we believe finance should be a force for good. In a year marked by economic uncertainty and rising social need, we remained steadfast in our mission: to support the organisations that are changing lives, strengthening communities, and protecting our planet.
In 2024, we reached a new record – disbursing a record £70.0 million in new loans to UK charities and social enterprises, building on the strong £53.5 million distributed in 2023.
As you read this report, I hope you’ll take away more than just the numbers. I hope you’ll pause with each story and see the people behind the data, the lives changed, the futures made brighter, the communities strengthened. These stories speak louder than any statistics. They are the reason we do what we do.”
