Charity Bank are winners at the Charity Times Awards 2025
We are delighted to share that Charity Bank has been named Ethical Financial Services Provider of the Year at the prestigious Charity Times Awards 2025!
The Charity Times Awards celebrate excellence across the UK’s not-for-profit sector, recognising organisations that demonstrate innovation, impact, and a commitment to best practice.
This award recognises a year of outstanding achievements over the past year, including:
- £85.4 million in new loans approved to charities and social enterprises.
- 77% of loans directed to the UK’s most deprived communities.
- £23.3 million lent to 33 diverse-led organisations, up from £15 million in 2023.
- 44% of loans went to first-time borrowers or those unlikely to secure funding elsewhere.
- Net Promoter Score of 86, placing us among the top banks for customer satisfaction.
We also launched the Brighter Futures Fund, using our profits and waived dividends to provide grants to organisations not yet ready for loan finance.
Other highlights:
- Piloting blended finance for energy efficiency and the cost-of-living programme.
- Expanding the LEAP programme to offer more unsecured loans to smaller, often excluded organisations.
- Achieving a £4.9 million net profit and 13% growth in deposits, reaching £387 million.
Our work is not just about numbers. Earlier this month, our colleagues visited Kundakala – a social enterprise empowering ethnic minority women. Our funding via the Brighter Futures Fund has enabled them to deliver training, launch micro-businesses, and improve lives in their community.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Nathan Whitaker, Director of Business Development and Borrower Experience, said: “Winning this award is not just an acknowledgement of our work, it’s a celebration of the incredible organisations we serve. Their tireless efforts to improve lives and communities inspire us every day, and we are proud to stand alongside them as a trusted financial partner.”
Ed Siegel, CEO of Charity Bank, added: “This award is a powerful recognition of our unwavering commitment to ethical banking and our mission to support charities, social enterprises, and organisations that are driving positive change across the UK. We are proud to be part of a movement that proves finance can be a force for good. Thank you to our customers, partners, and team members who make this work possible.”
To have received this award is a testament to the commitment and values-led approach of everyone at Charity Bank, and their commitment to our mission – We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible team.
